NEO Gamma is the next-gen AI-powered humanoid robot developed by 1X Technologies, specifically designed to level up your home life. Unlike traditional droids built for industrial assembly lines, NEO Gamma is all about domestic tasks, social interaction, and seamless human-robot vibes. It features a fully integrated AI system that allows it to mimic human speech and body language with surprising accuracy.

The Aesthetic
The standout feature of Neo Gamma is its sleek beige jumpsuit. This isn't just a fashion statement; it’s a 3D-knitted single-piece suit designed to fit its bipedal frame perfectly. This "tech-wear" approach ensures safer, softer interactions with humans without sacrificing performance. Underneath, NEO Gamma utilizes the 1X Tendon Drive system to power its joints, which are encased in soft padding for maximum passive safety.
According to 1X, this knitted layer also acts as a muffler, keeping the robot’s operational noise down to the level of a standard kitchen refrigerator—perfect for maintaining a quiet, smart-home environment.

How Does It Work?
NEO Gamma runs entirely on advanced AI, which boosts both its autonomy and safe teleoperation within a home setting. NEO walks with a natural human gait, swings its arms, squats to pick up packages from the floor, and can even chill on a chair while maintaining perfect balance. These dynamic control skills, operating at a 100 Hz frequency, allow the robot to learn through human motion capture data. This range of captured movements lets NEO Gamma handle a wide variety of "real world" lifestyle scenarios.
Furthermore, the robot’s limbs are designed to mimic human tendons. Its multi-joint arms are controlled by elastic motors and wrapped in soft covers, making its movements feel less like a machine and more like a living being.
1X has also developed a visual manipulation model capable of interacting with a massive variety of objects, even in messy environments it hasn't seen before. NEO Gamma uses neural networks trained to predict teleoperation actions. The Companion NEO Gamma feature set includes a conversational voice interface, allowing users to chat naturally with an 1X-developed Large Language Model (LLM). To make this happen, the humanoid body is packed with four microphones and a high-end acoustic system—one mic in the chest for voice commands and two in the pelvis to handle bass, sound effects, and music playback.
To keep the communication clear, the team added "emotional earrings" to the sides of its head. These glow similarly to an Amazon Alexa, giving you a visual cue when the robot is listening or speaking.
When Can You Get One?
“The future where everyone has their own robot assistant—sort of like a real-life Baymax—isn't that far off. Но for humanoid robots to truly integrate into daily life, they must be developed alongside people, not in isolation,” said Bernt Børnich, CEO of 1X.
While the exact MSRP and wide-scale release date are still under wraps, an early-access release for a select group is slated for 2025. Mass production is expected to kick off in 2026, with 1X aiming for 100,000 units by 2027 and reaching several million by 2028. It’s the ultimate luxury tech upgrade for the modern American home.
